Tick off each step as you go. The care label on your garment always takes priority over this list.

What it's for

Washing day is easier with an order of steps that works for any garment. This checklist keeps you on track, but every step defers to the care label, because the right temperature and method differ from one garment to the next.

How to use it

  1. Gather the items and read each care label first.
  2. Tick each step as you do it; the counter shows how far you've got.
  3. Skip any step the label rules out, such as machine washing a hand-wash-only bra.
  4. Use Reset to start again for the next load.

Worked example

A cotton-rich brief says 40 with one bar underneath, and a lace bra shows a hand in the tub. They go in different loads: the brief on a gentle cycle at 40 °C or lower, the bra hand washed. Neither label allows tumble drying here, so both dry on a line or flat.

What the result means

A finished checklist means you've followed a careful routine, not that every garment is safe on every setting. If a label is missing or unreadable, ask the maker before washing.

Limits

  • It doesn't read care labels for you or choose temperatures.
  • It can't tell whether a stain, fabric or trim needs professional cleaning.
  • Symbol summaries are simplified; check the full label and any written instructions.
